Terms And Conditions Of Hire

Hire time:

Typical hire time is 1-3 days. Any extra days, unless otherwise discussed with The Vintage Tableware Company (TVTC) at the time of order, may incur a surcharge.

Delivery/collection:

TVTC is very happy for you to collect your crockery from our showroom, therefore avoiding any delivery and collection charges. However, if you would prefer TVTC to deliver and/or collect the crockery then there is a £25.00 charge each way within a 25 mile radius of our showroom address. Outside of this area can be discussed at time of order.

Cancellation:

If you have to cancel your order and you give us 30 days or more notice before the agreed delivery/collection date then you will incur no charge and your deposit will be returned in full. However, if cancellation takes place within 30 days of the agreed delivery/collection date then your 50% prepaid deposit is non-returnable. Please make any cancellations in writing via Royal Mail.

Packaging:

All of your crockery will be packaged carefully by TVTC and we require them to be repackaged with due care and replaced into their original boxes. The crockery is obviously fragile and therefore we would kindly ask you not to wash any of the items (we will happily do that for you!) therefore saving you any further charges. All we ask is that the items are scraped free of food and debris before being repackaged in the original boxes.

Linen:

Please make sure all linens are dry and free of debris before being packed away. Tablecloths and napkins are susceptible to mildew if left damp. Damage caused my mildew, cigarette burns, candle burns and heavy staining will be charged at full replacement cost of £20.00 per tablecloth and £1.50 per napkin.

Charges and damages:

When you place your order with TVTC you will be asked to secure it with a 50% deposit of the total hire cost. The balance will then be payable 14 days prior to the collection/delivery date.

Regrettably breakages do happen, so TVTC also require a standard damage deposit of £100.00 which is to be paid at the same time as the balance by cash which will be held until items are returned and deemed undamaged and unbroken. Items damaged and broken will be charged at the following prices:

Crockery or glassware which is chipped will be charged as broken. All breakages must be packaged carefully and returned to us with the rest of the items. The damage deposit will be returned once all items have been checked and deemed complete and in good order.

Checking and signing:

It is important that you check all items at the time of delivery/collection and sign the accompanying delivery note. Please inform us of any problem with your delivery at this time. Failure to inform the TVTC of any damage or shortfall in your order will deem the order complete.

Liability:

TVTC will accept no responsibility for any damage or injury caused to person, property or product as a result of this hire agreement unless negligence on the part of TVTC can be shown. All goods hired are the responsibility of the hirer until returned to TVTC.

Insurance:

For your own peace of mind we recommend that you take out a suitable insurance to cover the items whilst they are in your possession. Insurance should be based on full replacement cost of the items hired.

Additional items:

TVTC will try to accommodate requests for additional items once the final balance has been paid but this cannot be guaranteed. Payment for these items is due upon receipt of the goods. We regret that the order may not be reduced post final payment.
